SavorKeep ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the SavorKeep iOS app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Permissions We Request
SavorKeep requests the following iOS system permissions. Each is optional until you use the feature that requires it; you can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → SavorKeep.
SavorKeep never requests your location, contacts, or microphone. We only ask for the camera and photo access needed to attach images to your recipes, and local notifications for cooking timers and reminders.
2. Information We Collect
SavorKeep collects only the information needed to provide its features. We do not require an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or login credentials.
The recipes you save — titles, ingredients, steps, notes, tags, and ratings. Stored on-device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account.
Photos you capture or import to illustrate a recipe or dish. Stored on-device and in your iCloud account only.
When you import a recipe from the web, the link you provide is used to fetch and parse that page. The URL and parsed text are processed for that import only.
Timers and reminders you create. Scheduled entirely on-device as local notifications — never sent to a server.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Saving & organizing recipes — Your recipes, photos, and notes are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and, if you enable it, synced to your personal iCloud account. We cannot access your iCloud data.
- Importing from the web — When you paste a recipe link, SavorKeep fetches that web page so it can extract the recipe into your collection.
- AI recipe parsing — To turn a web page or photographed recipe into clean, structured ingredients and steps, the relevant recipe text is sent to a third-party AI language model (LLM) service. Only the recipe text needed for parsing is sent; the service does not retain it beyond the duration of the request.
- Cooking timers & reminders — Local push notifications are scheduled entirely on-device. No notification content is sent to any server.
4. Third-Party Services
Recipe websites — When you import a recipe by link, SavorKeep requests that page directly from the website you provided in order to read its contents. SavorKeep does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party recipe websites.
AI language model (LLM) service — Recipe text is transmitted to a third-party AI service to structure it into ingredients and steps. No account information or photos are required for this, and the provider does not store your content beyond processing the request.
Apple iCloud — If you enable iCloud sync, your recipes and photos are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
We do not use any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services that collect personally identifiable information.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your recipes, notes, and photos are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If iCloud sync is enabled, they are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.
Network requests for recipe import and AI parsing are made over encrypted HTTPS connections.
SavorKeep does not operate servers that store your personal recipe data. Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data remains on your device and iCloud account until you delete it. You can:
- Delete individual recipes and photos within the app at any time.
- Erase all app data via Settings → Data inside SavorKeep.
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored data from your device.
- Remove iCloud sync data via iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → SavorKeep.
We do not retain copies of your recipes on SavorKeep servers because we do not receive them in the first place.
8. Tracking & Advertising
SavorKeep does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use advertising networks, behavioral profiling, or cross-app tracking of any kind. The App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is not requested because it is not needed.
The app contains no third-party advertising SDKs and does not display ads.
9. Children's Privacy
SavorKeep is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that collected personal information, please contact us via our support page and we will take prompt steps to address it.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Because SavorKeep stores your data on your own device and iCloud account, you exercise most privacy rights directly through the app or through Apple's settings. For any other requests:
- Access / Correction — View and edit all your data within the app.
- Deletion — Delete data via the app or by removing the app entirely.
- Portability — Export your recipes via Settings → Data → Export in the app.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. SavorKeep does not sell personal information.
EEA / UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest in providing the features you explicitly use. Contact us via our support page to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will also display an in-app notice. Continued use of SavorKeep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
